Designed for repairs of any size, 5 STAR Acrylic Lacquer Primer is the perfect combination of performance and versatility!

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
#5401 HOT ROD PRIMER is a 2.1 VOC, high quality, single component primer surfacer that offers quick fill, fast drying, easy sanding characteristics while providing minimal shrinkage and great adhesion to properly prepared substrates.

COLOR:
Offered in black.

MIX RATIO:
1 part #5401 - Hot Rod Black Acrylic Primer to 1 part #5910 - 5 STAR Acetone.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
Clean all areas to be primed with compliant #5903 XTREME FinalWipe - Wax & Grease Remover to remove all dirt, wax, grease and other surface contaminants. Featheredge bodywork and sand all areas to be primed with 180-220 grit sandpaper. Surface must be clean and dry. Rust and oxidization must be removed prior to applying primer by sanding, grinding or sand blasting. Note: Self Etching Primer MUST be used under 5401 when used over aluminum, bare metal or stainless steel substrates.

APPLICATION:
Apply 1-3 wet coats allowing 5-10 minutes between coats.

Dry Times
After the last coat has been applied allow the primer to dry for 30 minutes before sanding. Use grit recommended for the topcoat paint. #5401 must be sanded prior to topcoating.

POT LIFE:
There are no pot life limitations with #5401 Hot Rod Primer Surfacer, however, occasional stirring may be needed to keep a uniform mix. Keep lid closed to prevent solvent evaporation.

COMPATIBLE TOPCOATS
Acrylic Urethanes: Basecoat Color, Acrylic Enamels, Synthetic Enamels, Polyurethane Color.

CLEAN-UP:
Clean spray equipment immediately after use with 5 STAR #5414 VirginWash Thinner or Spray Gun Cleaner.

FIRST AID
In case of eye contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention. For skin: Wash thoroughly with water. If difficulty in breathing is experienced, get medical attention immediately. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting, get medical attention immediately. See Material Safety Data Sheet.
