Designed for repairs of any size, MAXX FILL 2K is the perfect combination of performance and versatility!

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
5455 is formulated to provide a fast-drying, high-build film that has excellent adhesion, easy sanding properties and excellent color holdout. It is designed to be used on properly prepared steel, aluminum, iron, fiberglass and previously painted surfaces. This primer surfacer can be topcoated with any paint system. Offered in a Buff (Yellow) color.

COLOR:
Buff (Yellow) color.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
Clean all areas to be painted with 5 STAR #5901 Wax & Grease Remover to remove all dirt,wax, grease and other contaminants. Featheredge and sand original finish. Surface must be clean and dry. Bare galvanized steel and aluminum should be coated with 5 STAR #5414 and #5415 Self-Etch Primer prior to applying #5455 MAXX FILL 2K Urethane Primer Surfacer.

APPLICATION:
Apply 2 full wet coats at 40-50 psi to achieve 3 mils of film that can be sanded and topcoated in 1 to 2 hours.

FLASH & DRY TIMES:
Let each coat flash 5-10 minutes. Better appearance and color holdout will be achieved by letting dry 6-8 hours prior to sanding and topcoating. It can be force dried for 30 minutes at 140°F (60°C) after allowing the final coat to flash 10 minutes. Films in excess of 3 mils should not be force dried. If 6-8 mils film build is desired, omit the 5 STAR Urethane Grade Reducer and use a gravity feed gun at 30-35 psi at the gun. Allow 15 minutes flash between coats. Films in excess of 3 mils must be dried overnight before sanding and topcoating. Pot life will be approximately one hour. 5455 must always be sanded before topcoating.

POT LIFE:
Mix the components in the order and ratio of: 4 parts #5455 primer with 1 part #5458 activator, and 1 part 5 STAR Urethane Grade Reducer. Stir thoroughly after adding each item. Pot life of activated primer is approximately 2 hours.

CLEAN UP:
Clean spray equipment immediately after use with 5 STAR #5214 Virgin Wash Thinner or Urethane Grade Reducer.Do not leave material in spray gun.

FIRST AID:
In case of eye contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention: for skin,wash thoroughly with soap and water. If difficulty in breathing is experienced, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical attention immediately. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting.Get medical attention immediately. See Material Safety Data Sheet.
